Case Study: Insurance

Mutual of Enumclaw

The Challenge

Mutual of Enumclaw (MOE), with independent agents in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, has used PayPilot to process and track insurance claims payments since April of 1998. With their Claims division spread out among 16 different offices across three states, MOE wanted to distribute claims processing among its many agencies—but centralize control.

The Solution

PayPilot integrates information from all Enumclaw sources into a comprehensive database that can be accessed at any time and from any location by all their staff for queries, reporting, printing file copies, or manual input of payment information. For outside issue, or claims paid in remote offices across the three states, PayPilot tracks payments through bank reconciliation. For all other claims, the system processes payments, prints out checks utilizing MICR technology on blank safety stock, automates bank reconciliation and tracks all payments, then exports updated information back to MOE’s central database.

They also use the system for OFAC compliance. Using Prelude’s PayFlag module, payments are scanned against the OFAC list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons to ensure that all payments are issued in compliance with Patriot Act legislation.

The Results

“We’ve been extremely impressed with Prelude Software and its PayPilot software. We’re a growing company and need a streamlined process to issue and track claim payments,” said John Willis, Vice President of Marketing at Mutual of Enumclaw.
